How to Make Reading a Habit?
Today I’m going to talk to you about that one habit which I recently developed and how it literally changed my life. This is in connection with the personal post series, which I recently started in this blog. So let’s begin!
How to Develop Reading Habit in Students?
The little reader!
While I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade, I have developed an interest in reading. I was reading the comic books in my regional language which is Malayalam. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story books in Malayalam but the only issue has been money. I and my elder sister will be checking my mom’s purse to save the 25 and 50 paise which might be hiding somewhere in the nook corners of the bag, bedside etc.
More personal posts,
Maybe in my 7th grade!
Let us now move forward to my 7th grade. A time where it all began! I took an English storybook from the library. The name of the book was ‘The treasure in the garden’ or the ‘secret in the garden’ something like that sort. Unfortunately, the book was more advanced for a novice reader like me. I couldn’t finish the book completely because there were plenty of new words for me which made it a necessity to refer the dictionary more often, which bored and irritated me. I gave up and I believed that all the school library books were all these sorts.
How to Develop an Interest in Reading Books?
‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho. I have heard a lot about the mentioning of this book title. But I have never bothered to read it until a month ago. I don’t know how I ultimately reach this book but like every other reader of this book, I too was really thankful. The book came to me at the right time. I was completely out of the track, depressed, stressed and whatnot with my life events.
The book was written in very simple words. Everyone could easily read it. The book will act as a sturdy stick or backbone to support your dreams. You’ll be really glad about your decision to read this book.
Ultimately, if someone asks me which book will you suggest me as a novice reader, I would say without a second thought – go for ‘the alchemist’ and you’ll never go wrong. You will definitely dream better and you’ll feel good.
Ever since this book, the following things happened:
– I developed an interest to read more books.
– I could firmly believe that the books are worthy of making your life change.
– it helped me dream better.
– I felt attached to books, like never before.
In short, start reading habit if you haven’t yet. Start with ‘the alchemist’ if you haven’t read it until now. Let us dig better into our own lives with these books.
