Storable Healthy Snack Recipe for Weight Gain!

Healthy Snacks on the Go!

Hello everyone,

Today I’m going to share an easy recipe for a storable healthy snack for weight gain which involves no cooking! The main ingredient of this recipe is roasted dal which will be available in all Indian stores.

This recipe is of ‘maaladoo’, a Ladoo recipe which is very much familiar to Indians. So without any further delay, let us get into the recipe.

Maladoo is a popular ladoo (sweet balls) in India. A bite of this ladoo will melt in your mouth spreading its sweetness, just like that!

I distinctly remember the first time I had the opportunity to have this delicious ladoo. It was during my 11th grade, my class teacher went to India for a vacation and she came back with some of these laddoo for sharing with the class.

Once we had the ladoos, she said how easy it is to make it. And after that, I used to make them alot of times at home. Thank you, Jaysree Ma’am.

The main ingredient of this recipe is roasted gram. 100 grams of roasted gram has 164 calories in it. Along with the addition of sugar and ghee, the end result is the best for weight gain.

Roasted Gram can be found in any Indian stores near you. It is a tasty snack by itself.

Also yet another thing is that, you can easily change the main ingredient used in this recipe and make balls out of almost all things. Roast gram flour and prepare the balls with the other ingredients, you get besan ladoo. Cornflakes, oats, etc all our other options.

You can have it as a delicious snack then and now. And I can tell you, this is the best way to boost your calories.

Healthy Snack Recipe for Weight Gain

Preparation Method:
Step 1: Take one cup of roasted dal or roasted gram into a nice Grinder jar, add a cup of sugar as well into it and power into a very fine texture.
Step 2: Move this fine powder into a deep bowl.
Step 3: Add 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder into it and mix it really well.
Step 4: Finally, add the ghee little by little into this mixture and see if you can form a ball pit of the mixture. You might have to apply a little bit of pressure while making the balls out of it. That’s it.

Store in an airtight container. It stays fresh for almost a week. But it will probably get over even before that. If you want to store for even more days, you can safely keep it in your fridge for about a month.

Imp: Do not add all the ghee at once. Add little by little and see if you can make balls out of it. Adding the ghee altogether will result in a runny mixture out of which you will never be able to make nice round shaped balls. If you accidentally did so, add more gram powder and it will be fine.

The sugar quantity can be altered as per your taste. You can use powdered sugar little by little into the end mixture taste it, and use more if required. It doesn’t taste good if it is too sweet. The use of cardamom powder is important because it gives a special taste to balance out the blank flavour of the main ingredient used.
